Paul Shishkoff Jr. NCAA Bracket 12/22/11

This week’s brackets have Syracuse as the overall #1 seed, while Duke falls to #2.  Vanderbilt’s inability to beat teams in the RPI Top 50 has cost them a #1 seed and has thus given that #1 seed to Southern Mississippi.  The last four teams in are Indiana State, Michigan, Northwestern, and Virginia.

The one noticeable team who is currently not in the field of 68 is Kentucky.  The Wildcats did beat North Carolina, however losing to Indiana and having a 156th strength-of-schedule hurts them.  Indiana’s combined RPI and strength-of-schedule is 286.  Meanwhile, 6 of Kentucky’s 10 wins come from teams who have a RPI ranking greater than 200.

Here are the NCAA Brackets for 12/22/11
